To further enhance aerodynamics, the ride of the HF was lowered a bit compared to other Civic models, and special wind-cheating underbody panels were also added.

A: It would be pointless unless you are doing it for looks, which is kind of ironic if you’re trying to make your car look different because 9/10 ricers will do the same thing.

I would say take the same money and put it into tinting your windows or getting a stiffer rear anti-sway bar or a cold air intake. At least those things serve some purpose.

Q: Should I buy extended warranty for new Honda Civic?
I just bought a Honda Civic Couple LX 2006 – current warranty is 3 year/36,000. Dealer is giving me option now for 5 year/80,000 for $1,200. Should I get it?

A: Extended warranties on new cars are usually not a good long-term value. Since your original car warranty runs for the first 3 years, you are essentially paying $600 a year (In advance) for an extra two year’s coverage.

You would be better off putting that $1,200 in your own savings account and keeping it in reserve for future car maintenance costs. If you take care of your car and perform scheduled maintenance as suggested by the manufacturer, you may never need to touch your bank account, and will still have that money (plus interest) at the end of five years.

Q: Is choosing the navigation option for a new Honda Civic worth the extra price?

A: I’ve looked into this a lot as to decide whether our new family car should come with the navi or not.

Is it worth the extra price? yes and no. here’s why….

If you don’t buy the navigation from the dealer, and instead get an aftermarket one and install it, it willl be cheaper + usually has more options/features. The thing with aftermarket systems is it doesn’t take someone long to break into your car and yank it out, leaving you with a loss of a system that probably cost around $1k.

If you DO get the navigation from the dealership, it is more pricey, but for the most part its covered under warranty from the dealer should anything happen + it would be a lot harder for a thief to take that out than an aftermarket system. You can’t really just rip it out of the dash and run with it (at least not without rendering it useless). However dealership navigation systems usually have less feautures than most aftermarket systems (usb connectivity, limited ipod integration, etc)

When buying our new Honda we decided not to go with the navigation option, it was too pricey for the lack of features, but we wont be installing an aftermarket system either, instead we just got a portable GPS. Works like a charm + its easy to just take it with you when you leave the car. No problems :)

Q: Would you agree that the new Honda Civic is a great alternative to a VW Golf.?
I am about order my new car and have decided on a Civic sport.
I will be spending about £16,000 and have had a great deal of trouble concluding what to buy

A: Both fantastic cars but you pay way over the odds for a really good Golf. As a Lexus driver I would put my money on the Jap cars everytime. The Civic is fantastic in every engine size and style. If you are thinking of buying a car of this type have you checked out the Focus? It is the best in this class and beats the stupid BMW1 hands down too!

Q: Have you had problems with airbags in your new Honda civic sedan?
Yesterday I crashed my 2006 Honda civic sedan and the passenger airbag poped out but the driver one didn’t.
My car is now written off but I’m glad I Have insurance and able to get out of the car with only a few bruises.

A: It’s because of the angle your car got hit (MAYBE? idk where u got hit) Or the car might have sensed that it would have been better if your airbag didn’t deploy because of the severity of your side in the crash. Honda is very advanced in safety and I’m sure it had something to do with keeping you safe. You walked out with minor injuries didn’t you? =]
