I was planning to buy the Audi A5 last month but realized the new A4 that just came out has better looking headlights. Does anyone know if the headlights in the A4 will fit in an A5? Or will the upcoming A5’s have the same style headlights?

A: audi’s are very nice cars. the are german are basically tweaked VW, witch are reliable. but when something does go on them be prepared to pay a fair amount depending on what the problem is. Audi’s are quick, smooth and overall a great car in my opinion. good luck

A: It should cost the same as a clean-titled Audi but you will be paid less if you get into a major accident, how much is subjective. I own a salvage car now and just have liability and comprehensive but I only buy older salvage cars that aren’t worth more than $3k so collision is not important to me.

Well, it is a long story, I’ll try to keep it brief. My mom decided she wanted an Audi A5. My dad wants to give it to her as a gift. We ordered one from Len Stoler Audi. While other dealers were not willing to give us any money off due to the car being brand new, and since we are ordering it, Len Stoler was willing to drop $950 off the sticker. We set out the order from them. They originally said in mid March that it would be here in late June. To add some competition, we ordered the exact same car from Valley Motors Audi about a week later. They said they would drop $450 off the price. They said it would come in in August. We asked why is would be later than the other dealer. They said they are not allowed by Audi to get any more 2008’s, and we would get a 2009. We had to call Len Stoler and ask why it would be quicker. They told us they made a mistake and it would come in later. Around 4 Weeks after the Len Stoler order, we got a letter from them thanking us for the purchase, they…
even knew that we were keeping this as a secret from my mom. She got into the mail and read it, now it isn’t even a surprise. Is it worth the savings of $500 from Len Stoler to buy it from them, even though they have already pissed us of Twice?

A: Yea i would call them up and talk to the manager of sales department not your salesmen.. Honestly it is a cliche but most of them are full of bs.. So go straight to the boss and explain how your so upset and that Valley motors audi is offering 950$ off the sticker and that your just going to get it from them since you have been inconvenienced so much with Len Stoler its no point to continue to do business with them, say the only way you will consider even purchasing the A5 from them is if they drop the price 500$ more. Q: BMW vs. Mercedes vs. Audi?
My mom has been in the market for a new car for a while now, now I introduced her into some new decisions that are used, what do you think is the best?

2005 BMW 645 Coupe with 15,000 Miles
2006 Mercedes E55 AMG with 18,000 Miles
2005 Mercedes CLK350 Convertible with 13,000 Miles
NEW 2008 Audi A5

I prefer not to buy new due to the savings you can get by buying a low-mileage used car. The E55 is clearly the best deal, but she is not sure about the red leather inserts on the seats. The 6-Series is the most money, but it is in immaculate condition, as well as every single option. The Audi is one of the best looking cars on the planet, I am just worried about Audi reliability. The CLK is really good looking, and it is a convertible, and the least expensive.

Q: Should my dad buy a 2004 maserati, 2010 Audi a5, or infiniti g37 sport?
By the end of the summer my dad would like to buy a new car because his 1996 Audi a4 Is completely failing. We know owning the maserati would cool and fun to have but it’s maintence and fuel economy isn’t good. It just got a new Clutch but that’s all the maintence I know about besides yearly oil changes and tune ups. We really have no clue on which we should buy on our benefit. I am trying to decide between an Audi A4/A5 or a Sports Luxury IS250C.

I will be buying the car brand new (2010 model). And am located in Australia.

Which is better? And which audi model is better – the A4 or A5 convertible?

A: @Eric: You’re calling the Lexus a glorified Toyota? At least the Lexus IS doesn’t have a Toyota counterpart. The Audi A4, however, is based on the Volkswagen Passat. They share the same platform, a few of the same parts, and they look quite similar. I don’t mean to put down Audi here, but if a Lexus is an overpriced Toyota than an Audi is an overpriced VW. By the way, there’s more Audi’s based on VW’s than there are Lexus based on Toyota’s.

Back to the question. They quit making the A4 convertible a while back so if you’re buying brand new your only choice is the A5 Convertible. I like both of the cars you mentioned. Obviously the Lexus is more reliable and has the smoothest ride, but the Audi is sportier and more engaging to drive. I also think the Audi is better looking, but that’s a matter of opinion. It really just depends on what you like and what you want from a car.

I would probably choose the Audi A5 Cabriolet, but you can’t go wrong either way.

In about three months I’m getting a new car and I’ve been looking at these three. Looking at all around aspects of the car – mileage, speed, looks, space, comfort – which do you think is the best choice? I am thinking about getting a new car but can’t decide between the A5 and G37. the A5 is about $6000 more expensive than the G37 and has less horses as well, but is a beautiful machine. I have always owned Japanese and was thinking about giving German engineering a try. Thanks

P.S. No BMW 3 Coupe suggestions. I gave it a look and you have to add too many things that should be standard on a luxary vehicle and the price winds up $15000-$20000 over the base.

A: I’d take the G37.

It’s better built, faster, and handles better. I agree: the A5 and S5 are drop-dead gorgeous cars, and I wouldn’t mind having one… however I worked for VWAG/Audi/Porsche for a long time and I know firsthand the problems that Audis have, especially for the first year or two that they introduce a new car.

I wouldn’t risk it.

Plus, the G37 is a slick looking car too. My friend has a black-on-black six speed sitting on a set of HRE rims, and it’s a killer! As far as performance in the wet is concerned, I drive a Honda S2000, which is rear wheel drive, and the year I have didn’t have traction control. Don’t drive it like a numbskull and you won’t end up with a numb skull. I’ve driven in torrential downpours in summer tires in it and haven’t ever lost control of it.

Q: BMW 335ci, Merc CLK 350 or Audi A5 (3.2)?
I’d like a new coupe (I’ve had company saloons up until now) but the woman insists on it being practical as well so i have narrowed it down to these, although other suggestions are appreciations. (absolute max £45K)

Dont just get a test drive

Go and hire each one for a weekend then you all can see what suits you best its the best way for you to make your mind up and if you are really good you can sometimes get a demo car free for the week end !

This is worth being tried to save ” we should have brought that one ” later on

Q: BMW 335 vs Audi A5, or something else?
I’ll be on market for new car in January and these 2 are ones that caught my eye.
They’re right in my price range so I’ ask you: what do you think is better one and maybe recommend 3rd option?

For me Audi looks better outside and inside while BMW got better performance and is cheaper.

Tough choice really so would like some more opinions.

A: If you’re looking for an Audi Quattro car, look at the S4, not the A5. The S4 has a very clever new differential that controls the way the car drives. The A5’s 4wd system is there for safety (50/50 torque split, creates understeer) whereas the S4’s system is there to enhance the fun.

Personally, I’d get the 335i because I’d prefer rear wheel drive over 4wd any day of the week. The steering is way better, it gets better fuel economy, weighs less, and you can get the tail out any time you want. I live in the Northeastern United States, and I have no problems getting around in a rear wheel drive car in the snow/rain. You get some wheel spin with the traction control off, but keep it on and you’re fine.

The S4 is tempting because it’s quicker from 0-60 over the BMW, but BMW offers a more rewarding manual transmission, and like I said, it’s more fun because of rear wheel drive. The Audi has a better interior though.

Ok, so to recap: Forget the A5, look at the S4. The A5 looks better, but the S4 is more dynamic and more comfortable thanks to adaptive chassis control. I’d get the 335i because it has rear wheel drive, but if you really feel that you want 4wd, or if you like the extra power of the S4, go for the Audi. They’re both exceptional vehicles.
