Q: What size are the factory fitted speakers in a 2008 Honda Civic?
Hi, I’ve recently brought a 2008 Honda Civic and am getting it delivered on tuesday, I’m looking to change the built in door speakers for more powerful ones however I need to know how big the speakers actually are (in inches) so that i know which ones will fit while I’m shopping around?

Thanks in advance.

A: WellI found this for you.http://shopittome.info/183081/in-door

Q: What kind of gas should I use for 2008 Honda Civic?
I have a 2008 Honda Civic Coupe EX. Which type of gas should I fill it up with?

A: just regular gas.

Q: What ecu came with a 1994 honda civic ex?
Trying to figure out what ecu came with the honda civic ex, it’s a D16z6, because one of my friends that I bought the car from might have gave me the wrong ecu, I think I’m suppose to have the P28 but he said he gave me the right ecu.

A: Okay let me break it down for you,

Yes the P28 does come stock in the 92-95 Civic Si (hatchback) or 92-95 Civic Ex (sedan/coupe)

but you need to make sure you get a manual version of the ECU, because there is a automatic P28 as well.

Honda ECU #’s are like this,

37820-P28-A01 (or similar)

Honda’s part number for ECU, which is always 37820.
Three characters (which are loosely related to the model of car/engine). e.g P28.
Three characters (which are the revision of the ECU) e.g. A01 or G52.

Middle 3 Numbers ID which ECU it is.

The last 3 characters are broken down into 3 parts. “A” generally is used for US ECUs. “G” is European, and “J” is Japanese. There are other versions of this, but you get the idea. The second digit “0″ typically means manual transmission, where a “5″ means automatic transmission, and the last digit “1″ is the version number.

so A01 would mean “A” US “0″ manual transmission and “1″ would be the first version of this ECU.

Q: Where do I locate the engine number on a Honda Civic?
I’m planning on buying a Honda Civic 1998 VTi sedan. I want to do a revs check but I don’t know where to find the engine number

A: Usually engine numbers are stamped into the engine block. Sometimes there is so many ancillary bits bolted on you can’t find it. Suggest looking at VIN plate (usually riveted to engine bay bulkhead). Otherwise google the Honda car fanatics and ask them.

Q: How to connect iphone in 08 Honda Civic?
I want to connect my iphone in my honda civic to listen to music.
What cables do i need and how would i do it?

A: You need a 3.5 mm AUX cable.

Q: How much would it cost to tune a 2001 honda civic?
I want to make my 2001 honda civic have the doors that go up, a remote car door opener, a nice engine, a deep base exhaust, nice suspension, an electric blue paint, white 18″+ wheels, blue under car neon lights, blue in car neon lights, nice electrical system, and astonishing interior. How much would it cost?

A: I’ll just go ahead and break it down for you, since I’m working on the same type thing right now.
Based on what I’ve found:

Lambo Doors: around $700
Keyless Entry: $45-$90
Engine: anywhere from $200-$1000
Exhaust: $400-$600
Lowering Sport Springs: around $150
Paint: not too sure, probably around $600, you’d have to ask a shop
Rims: $300-$700
Underbody Neon: $130
In car Neon: around $150
Interior: around $2000 probably, you’d have to ask a shop.

Total: between $4675 and $6120.
With the charges in labor and whatnot, probably another third of that, if not twice.

It adds up quick. Hahaha.
Hope this helps you a little.

Q: How much would it cost to repair the frame of a 92 Honda Civic?
I have a Honda Civic with a cracked frame, the car still drives perfectly, just the frame is bent from an accident, but not very bad. I want to know an estimate of how much it would cost to fix or even if its repairable…

A: Ok speaking as a shop owner I hear people say what you are saying all the time . There is no way of giving you an estimate without seeing the car. When you you do a frame straightening estimate you must know how far from Spec is the frame. We can straighten the frame of a car within +- 1mm from factory specs which allows your alignment and body body panels to fit right. The estimate will depend on if you need a section of frame replaced or just straightened. Frame labor at my shop is $120 per hour you can do a set up and a pull in 1 hour so go from there.

Q: How to verify Honda Civic Hybrid 2003 has rear airbags?
I am thinking of buying a used Honda Civic Hybrid 2003 that the owner claims has rear side airbags. How do I actually verify that the car are installed with those airbag, e.g. are there some documentation or papers that I can refer to? Thanks.

A: You might want to try asking some owners to be sure:
http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/honda-hybrid/
http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/Honda_Civic_Hybrid/
http://www.insightcentral.net/forum/

http://www.greenhybrid.com/discuss/f12/

Considering that the Honda press release for the 2003 HCH only lists the dual-stage driver and passenger front airbags and driver’s and passenger’s side airbags as standard equipment, with no note about rear airbags as an available option, it is highly possible that your seller is confused. (It’s always possible that the seller has a one-off VIP vehicle, but unlikely.)

http://corporate.honda.com/press/article.aspx?id=2002020643225

Normally there’s a SRS label wherever the airbags live, so if you don’t see any label either just above the rear windows or by the side of the rear seats, it is highly unlikely that any airbags are in the rear area.

Q: Where Can I Find An Intake Manifold For a Honda Civic 1996?
I am looking for an intake manifold for a Honda Civic 1996, D15Z6, LSi, 1500, EK3, KA5MT, 6Cylinder, 1.5L ABS engine, VTEC First Generation Japan Motor 4 door sedan Fuel Injected. The manifold will be a unique one, not a standard one. I need it asap. New or Used and/or reconditioned is fine. I welcome web sites that definitely have it and also auto parts places, really anything and worldwide is fine. Thank you for all your help. Everyone have a fantastic day!
Hoda Civic, 1996 First Generation Japan VTEC, D15z6, LSi, EK3, KA5MT, 1.5L ABS.
Intake Manifold needs to have a SWIRL CHAMBER in it. This is a 6 cylinder car. I know most came as a 4 cylinder but, the person this is for should know as he is the owner and a mechanical engineer who has worked quite a lot on his car. I would appreciate getting actual websites and dealerships that would carry this part. I need quality. I also need it as soon as possible.Thank you.
Correction: it is a 4 not a 6 cylinder. I misheard when it was dictated. Sorry. I would really like for someone to give me actual websites and source information.
I have an additional question: If I fit the Skunk2 Performance Manifold, how do I eliminate the EGR Valve Sensor PGM fault as it won’t be plugged in when I change the manifold?

A: this is what happens when you mix and match you car

Q: What does it mean when my airbag light is on ‘05 honda civic?
I drove the car the other day, everything was fine. Turned it off for a little while and when I got back and started it the airbag light came on and stayed on. Not sure why its on or what to do to turn it off. Does this mean the airbag is not functioning properly? Has anyone had this problem? It is a 2005 Honda Civic Si Sedan.

A: On most vehicles, the airbag light should come on for @6 seconds, and then go off if the system is working properly. If there is a fault or a problem in the system, the light will remain illuminated, or flash continuously. If the airbag light does not work properly, some vehicles have an audible tone that sounds indicating a problem with the airbag light system. When the light is on (or the tone is sounding), the airbag will NOT deploy, even in an accident. This website gives you the procedure for diagnosing and resetting airbag lights on the …scanlist.aspx page listed below.

The flashing light on your car is telling there is a problem. On some vehicles, the light is flashing a two digit code. Your vehicle will NOT require a scan tool for the proper diagnosis. Here’s a site that will explain everything you need to know about airbag lights and resetting the system. Once you know the code, you can most likely repair it yourself. There are fairly easy procedures that most people are capable of repairing.
Airbagsolutions.com has the fault code charts to tell you what is wrong! Although it’s a pay site ($14.95/day), it’s a lot cheaper than going to the dealer.

Some vehicle manufacturers accommodate systems without a scanner (like Toyota, Lexus, Nissan, Infinity, Honda, Acura, Ford, Lincoln, Mazda & Mercury) . Most all other vehicles require a scan tool for the diagnosis. Here is a link to the list of vehicle and scanner requirements.
Check out these websites also for more info on airbag systems and the light.
Lastly, check your vehicle for recalls through this link.

Q: What kind of parts do I need to repair on my 1996 Honda Civic?
I will be driving from Chicago to San Francisco in the summer.

I have a 1996 Honda Civic with 100,000 miles; what do I need to repair?

I think I need to repair some belts but which ones?

Should I even drive my car; does it have too many miles?

A: 100,000 miles is not that many for a Honda anymore. You can expect that car to last for 200,000.

If you haven’t already, think about replacing the timing belt now. For the trip, you might bring a spare water pump and fuel pump, if you wanna be extra cautious.

Q: What kind of a stereo system and engine and body kit should I put on my Honda Civic?
I just bought a car (Honda Civic) and I want to soup it up….show quality. I want it to be fast but also lightweight. So if you know anything about cars help me out!

A: you didnt say what year, but here’s a load of body kits for the honda civic

Q: Average cost of installing coilovers and struts on 1999 Honda Civic?
I plan on buying some Skunk2 Pro Series coilovers for my 1999 Honda Civic ex. I was wondering what would be the average cost for installation. If I planned on doing it myself, what would I need?

A: I believe you would need a spring compressor, a jack set, and some socket wrenches/basic tools. The spring compressor and other specialized tools can be obtained through Autozone’s “loan-a-tool” program for free (just bring them back and collect your deposit). You would have to buy a jack set. Its a pretty tough job (which is why I haven’t done it yet). Just know that you will have to adjust your camber, toe, etc to compensate, so you’ll need 4 wheel adjustment done by a pro anyway. If you need to know how much installation would cost, just call around. Good luck!

EDIT: Francisco, the poster’s independent use of the terms “coilovers” and “struts” led me to believe that he wanted to replace the springs and struts seperately (in which case, you WOULD need a spring compressor). If he indeed meant coilovers, then yes, the job would be pretty easy, as everything would arrive assembled. Better? Oh and one more thing, Francisco, did you get a wheel alignment after lowering your car yourself? If not, your tires are probably getting all screwed up.

Q: How does the door panel come off to replace the driver’s side mirror of my honda civic 2004?
I bought a replacement mirror for the drivers side of my honda civic 2004 and i know that i need to take the panel off the inside but i obviously don’t want to break it…do I just pry it off, are there connectors that I need to locate? Please help, thanks!

A: You should buy or make a window w handle release tool and buy a door panel removal tool You will need to remove the screws from behind the door handle pocket and under the armrest and look for any others. If you have manual windows you can make a crank release tool out of a bent coat hanger. Cut it to about 15 inches and put a 90o bend on one end then push the plastic washer back and turn the crank till you see the horseshoe part of the clip facing upward then insert the tool and pull the clip up till it comes off. Snap the clip back onto the handle to prevent loss. Double check for any screws then using a panel removal tool gently pry the door panel back then insert a pencil into the gap and locate the clips then gently remove them by pry with the tool
