Q: So i got a 07 cadillac cts at an acura dealership and they gave me a general key?
With no remote or even a spare key and i askd them bout the actual keys and they said theres not another key is there a wAy i can get the actual keys with remote without paying if it helps i have warranty on car. PLEASE HELP!!
A: if the key unlocks and starts the vehicle, you HAVE the actual key. remotes are not required to operate the vehicle and are not part of the key on Cadillacs of that vintage. you bought a used vehicle from a non- gm dealer, so it’s ‘as-is’. if you had bought a new caddy from a caddy dealer, you would be entitled to the things that come with a new car. no one owes you any freebies on this one. expect to spend a few hundred on keys, remotes and programming if ya just gotta have ‘em. no warranty covers missing keys and remotes.

Q: Tires on Cadillac CTS – Wearing out prematurely?
I am going thru tires on my 2005 CTS way too. At 32,000 miles, I am about to the end of life on my 2nd set. I have rotated them religiously, at 5000 mile (or less) intervals. My tire dealer says the way the car is “set up” it scrubs the tires, my Caddy dealer, while not refuting that, says there is nothing they can do, faulty design. Anyone else having an issue with this? Anybody challenged Gen Motors with any success?

Q: First Gen Cadillac CTS aftermarket rims?
I have an 06 Cadillac CTS, I am looking to buy some aftermarket rims, however I am not sure if they fit or not. The rims that I am looking at have 5×115 bolt pattern, +40 Offset and they are 18 inch.
Can anyone confirm whether they fit or not?
A: Yes, they will fit just fine. Your offset can be as much as 45mm on this model car.

A: It sound like your oxygen sensors…you need to replace them..also it wont hurt to change your spark plugs too. When you change the oxygen sensor.
I have that problem before…the oxygen are expensive…..but you change them you will get better gas mileage.

A: sorry, but safety features will not let you do this for obvious reasons. There is a wiring harness you can buy for $300 that over rides this, which may not be worth it in my opinion. Sorry about your luck.

A: If it is an add-on unit then it will have a separate fuse that will most likely be
behind the panel under the steering wheel.
Q: What size tire for a Cadillac CTS when you have 20″ rims?
245/35/20? Or is it something else?
A: it should actually be 245/30/20 if you want speedometer to read correctly but a the sidewall on a 30 is very small so you have to be extremely careful on broken up roads and potholes. I would recommend getting the 35 instead since the sidewall is a little bigger and tires are a lot cheaper in the 245/35/20 size. just remember that if you go that big you will be traveling about 3-4% faster than what your speedometer is telling you. so when your speedometer reads 60 you’re really going about 62-63mph. not that much but its good to know.

i was looking at buying a 2003 cts for 14,000. it has 45,000 miles on it. i heard some mixed things about cadillacs in general.
A: I was driving in one in FL and the rear transfer case (?) dropped out of it on the interstate. It started making a whining noise and then vibrated and then snapped. We were able to pull over and there was a lot of smoke. The car only had 8,000 miles on it and Cadillac repaired it under warranty.
